Graphic Cards What is SLI ?

SLI basically means you plonk in two graphics cards and get (almost) twice the performance. I suppose others will give you the gory details :ohyeah:

i come across this term in various websites related to graphic cards
can anyone please tell me what do we mean by SLI??
Beaten to this.. SLI - dual graphics cards.. basically shows the new move to "parallelism" in graphics... As current gen silicon's power/speed/performance limits are hit we'll see more of this...

To share the rendering load instead of using 1 card you slot in 2 graphics cards for nearly double the performance typically 50~70% more in gaming...

Its similar to what Intel and AMD are pushing for dual and quad cores another synonym for parallelism....

QUAD SLI is something new from NVIDIA (I knew about it from some time now though  ).. basically 4 GPU rendering in parallel....

in simple terms, its like adding 2 engines to ur vehicle. In SLi u use 2 graphics cards to increase the performance by nearly 85%
