thanks in advance

100 Grand can get u the nikon D7000 with the 18-55 and 55-300 Lens options. Go for this.

This is the newest model with Hordes of specs.

But beware....if u have little clue about photography then I suggest I try mega zoom camera's first before moving to DSLR's. I had the same dilema wherein my budget was around 2 lakhs but finally settled on a sub 30k camera as I found DSLR's to be very bulky and also quite complex.

remember buying a DSLR doen't mean u get great pictures from day 1. U need to practice hard and learn the tricks which could take anywhere from 3-12 months depending upon the time u dedicate to this hobby

You can also get a CANON EOS 7D with 28-135mm Lens.It costs approx 1 Lakh Rupees..Freaking Awesome camera. :) Comes with 2 Years Canon India Warranty , Carry Case & 16GB Memory Card. :)

Sorry if you dont like my post..

But seeing your quoted question, I am wondering whether it is the right time for you to spend 1 Lac in the DSLR

You are right Ashvarybabul but dude without jump in water how to learn swim main thing is that i dont have knowledge about lens so going to buy right thing with your helps.

Dude...its more like "without jump in water how to enter a tournament":)

Choice is yours...I did a research for around 4 months before I decided to drop off my DSLR dream and try out mega zooms for next 1 year

BTW: u need both lenses to take care of closeups and landscapes. what kind of photos do u take landscapes or portraits?

Also, remember, in a DSLR u cannot just press the click button, u need to make a lot of changes for every click:)

Its true that to learn how to swim, you need to jump in water.. but learning doesnt need 40 feet deep water.. Learning is more rapid and confident when you are in 6 feet deep pool :P

Its better you visit any near by Nikon/GK Vale Showroom and see how the different DSLR's compared to normal Superzoom cameras and try DSLR with Different Lenses(telephoto, zoom lens etc..) Camera will get heavy when you put bigger lenses.

Also i suggest you to have a look at below post which might be helpful for you :)

I suggest you buy the Canon 1000D first for 23k with a kit lens. Use that for a few months and see if you can get used to using a DSLR. IF you like it then upgrade to a UBER body like Canon 7D or a Nikon D7000. :)

Just my 2 cents.

What Brendon says make perfect sense, in fact use the 1000d for a year, find out what kind of photography do you like. Hence later on you will have a budget for a decent body, and uber good lens (I always suggest to invest in lens, bodies you can always upgrade..)
