OC & Modding What's a better overclock ?

A64 S754 @ 2.5 ghz , and 2-3-2-5 timings Ram @ 178 mhz DDR, 1T motherboard timing

or

A64 S754 @ 2.4 ghz and 2.5-3-3-5 timings, ram @ 218 mhz DDR, 1t mobo timing.

What should be better in case of gaming or in general ?

its very tough call.

100Mhz less but that much more on memory. And 100Mhz more tighter timings but at 178.

Its kina hard to tell which will perform better.

It should be almost same. 2.4 Might just perform better. If difference was 200 Mhz or so then it would have been easier to judge.

Just run couple of timedemos and 3dmark and see for yourself.
 
lol your oc's are useless. Throw away your pc.
You beat my non-oc'ed 9800pro/xp 2600+/512mb stock score by 1fps with your 9700pro @ 9800pro speeds/a64 2800+ @ 2.5ghz/1gb @ 2-3-2-5.

This would be better i feel.
Also is this the max u could push cant u.

Try some real world applications to judge.
eg FPS in Games , Aquamarks etc....
 
No, seems like 2.5 ghz is the ceiling for this CPU . Running @ 1.6 vcore. Ram restraints the overclock to 2.5 ghz & 178 DDR max though.

Either i can run @ 2.4 ghz and 218 mhz like i mentioned above, or 2.5 and 178 with tighter timings.
