" Please keep the following points in mind. Use of SMS lingo is not allowed on TE. Rude behavior towards other members will not be tolerated. Threads in market section that do not follow guidelines will be deleted on sight."

NOT ALLOWED . NOT TOLERATED. DELETED ON SIGHT.

Pretty much what is happening all over the country. But any reason for TE to go down the same road ?

Any changes in management?
Any prior suggestions sought from users?

I don't feel comfortable with the new attitude. Anyone else concur?

You may go through point #6 and 7 in this link. This should answer your couple of questions.

These rules have been in place from day 1, and are basically common sense + good web etiquette.
No SMS lingo - good web etiquette.
No rude behaviour - common sense.
Valid market threads (so as to avoid being scammed) - common sense.

As Mods we tend to overlook a few instances, but when people start taking advantage of the leniency there is a spike in bad behaviour. This has happened recently based on the reported posts we're seeing. Hence the gentle reminder to follow some guidelines.

Rude behavior towards other members will not be tolerated.
NOT TOLERATED.
I don't feel comfortable with the new attitude.
Can you perhaps explain why you would feel more 'comfortable' with people insulting others?

See still this forum mods and members are tolerating this thread of yours. If this was on TB this thread and your membership would have been terminated without asking/replying to it. [emoji3]

i was given a warning just for writing few words in caps lock on. the mods are turning weirdos
You should know, that before Facebook came, typing a post in caps was considered akin to shouting. It was only used when you needed to make a very strong point.
You were given a warning so that you understand the importance of web etiquette, that's it. How is that wrong.
Every congregation of human beings have a code on how to do things. This is the way it is on forums the world over. Some forums have grown too big to do such kind of damage control, but that doesn't mean that the others are intolerant or unjust.
Techenclave is one of the most forgiving forums I have come across, where you won't get banned unless you have scammed someone or abused the freedom very badly. You should see how TeamBHP deals with people who don't follow their rules. Yesterday I was given a warning on TBHP to quote only that part of the post which I was discussing and not the whole post. I could also have gotten angry as it wasn't a huge mistake, but I can see the logic behind the point they were trying to make, so you won't find me complaining.

Every form of human congregation has their own set of rules. If you want to join such a congregation you have to follow those rules. If some rule seems illogical to you then you can either try and reason against that with logic and politeness or like you are with arrogance and a childish attitude.

How is allowing someone to shout, 'growing up', like you are asking the mods to.
Every new member of a forum, is like a newborn child, no matter how old he is in real life. He/she has to learn the rules with possible help from the mods in form of reminders/warnings. Some forums are liberal in how they handle misdemeanors like Techenclave while some are not like TBHP.

Also, can you please provide me with the logic behind your issues with the rules.

"blah blah" or not TeamBHP is another forum just like TE. I dont think you know that. And so, the example quoted is way more related than what you think it is. By the way you compare a forum with Facebook? And thats the best relativity you could bring up?

intolerance is rising everywhere. where can i wapsi my (non-existent) awards ?

keep this up TE & soon kkkkiran will leave india along with her crying hubby.

I came to this section to ask why Mr.India got banned and I saw this thread. Please consider revoking it if its a permanent ban.
Is it a temporary or permanent ban? I really hope that its temporary. Please mods. No particular reason. His posts can be childish and silly, yes but i feel that he usually speaks out his mind, something which i value. Don't ask why. If the reasons for the warnings/ban are excessive usage of SMS lingo or posts in CAPS (I saw a mod notice on one of his posts) i'm sure that he can stop posting like that.

True.

That is harsh. I don't know what your post was about so i can't comment on it but I feel like flipping tables when i see people in the market section quoting the whole damn OP.

Ironic.
Not sure why TBHP forum is relevant to this discussion. Two different communities run by different people. No point in making a comparison. Eg. E has a member of a mod but who is banned here. Even karan/kidoman has been blacklisted on IVG and E Is just another forum. Want something more personal? I myself was banned on E for pointing out a stupid mistake of a moderator in the bazar section. Funny enough another staff member there didn't think it was justified. Looking back I see that the mod who banned me doesn't do the same to other members who have done something similar or worse. Anyway enough OT.

Who the heck is kiran and why should we care?

You watch too much tv, read news paper, and news websites I guess

One of the most non sense threads ever

Can we have a voting to ban a member say on monthly basis ?
and how exactly do you plan to deal with trolls? There is a "Ignore" feature for all personal reasons. And if someone crosses the line report the posts. We don't need to ban members for minor things or without proper valid reasons.

He's been temp banned for spamming this section with multiple threads after he was warned not to.
'Speaking his mind' is an overstatement. Someone who doesn't know whether to use upper case or lower case letters can hardly be expected to type anything that makes sense.

The ignore feature does not work on tapatalk , can mods look into it
Does it work on other xenforo forums? If not, its probably a bug to be directed at tapatalk themselves.
