WhatsApp and Other Websites Down

It appears that WhatsApp and many other websites aren't accessible currently (23:32PM - IST). I haven't been able to receive or send any messages on WhatsApp for more than an hour now. Also, accessing different websites I visit leads to DNS errors.

Google is working though and thew up this news upon searching:

WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook Down Globally

I checked and indeed Facebook and IG are also not accessible. Youtube is working.

Anyone else getting such errors currently?

Maybe Trump loyalists trying to intimidate Twitter by first unleashing their wrath on Fb and gang.. Trump is desperate to get his twitter account back.

I don't care about FB or IG but I do care about being able to send WA messages for communication. Heck, even websites and other forums (including TE) are throwing up DNS errors!

Then better to have an alternative especially for products owned by a single company and suggest others as well. Maybe try Telegram.

On the bright side Amazon India is working so you can continue shopping all night long... if you aren't doing anything more exciting that is.

Man I was suspecting my router from past 1hr just restarted it couple of times.
Good riddance internet is down for all.

Could be an attack or deliberately pulling the plug. Otherwise the fail over should kick in and keep those sites running.

Was there any recent incident involving FB or its subsidiaries?
