Forum Feedback when does the last visited time and new posts get refreshed?

i visited the forums yesterday and remained online till around 8.30 pm

when i again revisited the forums it correctly showed time of last visit as 7.00 pm and new posts count at 56

but after around one hour or so when i refreshed the page the data ramained the same and i could not remove the threads which are beyond my scope of knowledge.

can any thing be done or i am missing something?

and can i have that TE lite theme back i am missing it.

I think that the READ posts resets after abt 2 hrs or so.

What you can do(and what I do) is to MARK FORUMS READ when you have finished one session of browsing and posting on TE.

It is under Quick Links (or Menu)

The user must remain inactive for 1500 seconds before any of his/her unread posts are marked read. Also, forum read marking is cookie based and as a result mite cause a few problems depending on connection types and individual browser settings. You can also follow what nikhil suggested.

i had refreshed the page after say about 60 minutes of activity but still i could not get it will use nikhil`s suggestion though.
may be opera`s cache is the culprit here.

what about te lite theme??
 
^^ if ur talking abt the original TE Lite, then i'm sorry its not possible atm..

but u can use the "Silver style" for a lighter experience on TE ;)

its very close to original te lite imho. :)

let me pray some ones brains click a spark and bring back the themes (old as well some new)

if you face that refresh problem then its not a skin problem.

Let me explain

1) last time i had hacked the database to eliminate new posts in staff section. So the difference of posts will be there this time. I didn't do this time cos we are in rc stage of vbulletin and doing it with every release is a bit time consuming and me a lot busy these days.

2) on the posts not getting refreshed i must say that settings remain at 1500seconds before posts are marked read. Here is how it happens.

You must be completely inactive for 1500 seconds(and by that i mean completely) after which the posts will be marked read. If you are active during this time, it won't happen.

Again nikhils suggestion might help you. I cannot recreate the problem at my end though.

3) TE-Lite. that won't be possible. There is a pressing reason for that .. (and hey didn't you like silver :ohyeah: ) When i get some free time i will do another theme. :P

btw i know refresh and theme probs are not the same. i just did not wanted to create multiple threads.

what happens exactly is like this...
i logged on today morning saw few threads then became busy with patients and when i became free i surfed my subject related sites. so inactivity period was like 2 hours (during this time i never saw the te page even though it was open)

i went to lunch and came back in evening i again opened opera (the te site page showed you last logged in at 6.16 pm yesterday and unread posts included the thread which i saw in morning too and they did not have any new posts after that)

this is right now but i do not have any screen capture utility to post the screenie.

but no probs as i am not worried now much. i am using nikhil`s idea and also now i have faster net conn so do not mind a few mins extra browsing.
