Hi fellow mates , I really thank my TE mates for helping me decide my system so far .
Going to order now so need help in deciding the graphics card and cooler . I will put a query about cooler in the cooling section .

Now I have two option , a GTX 670 and a Hd 7970 . My primary need for a card is gaming , but am also planning to do some animation training later on , not sure about this thou .
Now please help me decide on the card . Also please tell me which manufacturer and model to look for in the 670 and 7970 .
Budget : 25-28k for the 670 and 35k for the 7970 .
If there is something much much better for a 1k more , dont hestitate .

Thanks

Sapphire 7970 Dual-X Costs 31250 at Mdcomputers.in or If u contact Distributors they Quote same Price!

This was when the card was 470$ Now itz down to 420$ You might see a Fall in price in Coming days maybe to 29K or less!

Thanks Sir ,

Thanks a lot friends , after some research on the Sapphire Dual Fan edition mentioned here , I have found some serious issues with it .
1. The card bends due to its own weight , means its sags , very sad to hear this from a firm like Sapphire .
2. There seems to be a lottery kind of a system with the cooler , some get terrible coil whine , some dont .
3. There seem to be some driver issues , now amd fans would want to kill me , but thats what I read on newegg specially .

MSI lightning edition has a backplate but it 's a bit too much expensive .
So any other suggestions ?

And what about the 670 vs 7970 ?

1.Yep thatz a Problem,You can think about Logical Solutions according to your Chassis!
2.Most cards are hit or miss.
3.Not a Problem with New Drivers. 12.7 Beta seems to be favorite among them!

Thanks a lot , thanks @JuGGa too :) .
1. Thats a huge problem !! . What can be done ? I dont think there is a simple fix . My Chassis would be a Corsair 400R .
2. :( the coil whine problem is much more than other cards only if it occurs , if you have a lottery , then its awesome .
3. Thanks will research about these .

1.Easy Solution is Some Kind of Card Holder like some Jack easy to make! Example ---> Newegg.com - PowerColor Professional Graphics Interface Card Supporter Model POWER JACK
2.That depends on Luck :)

If if u are not into Serious Animation,7970 will be waste on 1080p as 670 AMP! just kills the 7970 at 1080p! 7970 is More effective at 1440p or Multi Monitor Setup!

Chaos , spitfire7 @Chaos
guys please help on this .
aryacooldude ,
the primary problem with the Sapphire Dual X edition is sag problem , the cooler is so heavy , within a month or two , the card would sag so much it would not even allow the card to be recognized by the PCI-e slot unless you hot it straight by some mechanism . Sapphire has overdone here and is paying the price , too many people are unhappy with it . Am a bit scared , dont wanna spend 30k+ and have nightmares and constant worry .

The MSI 7970 lightning has a backplate but is not available here and is too costly , dearer by 5k :scared14: . There was a super deal on flipkart on Asus 7970 but I missed it :( . Am very sure they would never stock it again .

What to do , please help out people , why so quiet ? . So many owners out there , please share , I would be highly thankful .

Thanks for your time .

I have a Sapphire 7850 dual cooler card. I dont have any "sagging" problems. Where did you read about this problem? I have never heard of it.
