Hi,
How many of you have laptopt owners have installed Linux on your machines.
And if you have which flavor of the Linux do you use?

Am thinking of trying out Gentoo (seems interesting to try). I think Ubuntu should work fine but then there would be no fun in trying that out? ;)

Any other distros that might work on laptops (drivers etc. available on the net)?

I have ubuntu 8.04
works flawlessly...
reads all Windows partitions and writes too !!!
easier to use than Vista.. but i've heard if troubles start linux needs a lot of brainwork to troubleshoot(luckily none till now 4 me)
extremely gr8 distro.. very good community support too, try it.

Have already tried a few versions of Ubuntu on a desktop (also Debian) as well as a RHL.

After reading up on the extremely customizable nature of Gentoo wanted to try that out, but apparently updating Gentoo on a machine that is not connected to the internet is very annoying and tedious and made me soon loose interest in trying to maintain in.

Now however as I am thinking of trying Linux on a laptop I'm very sure I'll run into several problems with drivers etc. but was kind of hoping some people from here might have tried variants other than Ubuntu (keeping that as the last option right now)?
