I am building an web app and for login/sign up I will be using an external service like FB or Google. However I cannot use both. App is only for Indians.

I am 99.99% sure there are more Indians on Gmail than Facebook. However I thought its better to ask community before taking any decision. So I am more inclined towards using Google. Regarding privacy, in both cases I don't need any info. It is just used as login mechanism, I will be not asking for any other data.

So what do you guys suggest? Login via facebook or Login via Gmail?

I would prefer login by Gmail but for any new website app or anything I dont use any of them.

I dont trust any of them with the information.

I think I should have been clear. For sign up I don't need any data. Consider like this, to register on TE you have to verify your email and you will fill fill the user registration form. In my case, I don't require username or first name etc. Its like system itself will fill the required fields.

Or did you guys meant you don't use your gmail at any sign up sites at all?

Neither. I prefer to use a separate user id and password.
When you fill up the sign up form, you still have to provide email id, so that I can verify you are not bot. Like when you register on TE, you get verify email

The reason I am trying avoid this is,
- If I use gmail login then I really don't have to maintain username and passwords database.
- I don't have worry about security at all.
- Another advantage is one click sign up or login.
- No need to fill any form
- less spam or easy to deal with bots

and lastly app will be sending email notifications, so email is mandatory.

And even if you login via FB, I can still get email. And when you login from FB it will prompt that I will be using your email ID with which you guys registered.
