Hi
I am from Bangalore.
Basically from Costal Area, Andhra Pradesh.
I will be roaming very frequently from Blr-AP-Blr

Few days back I tried for Broadband Internet connection for my room in Bangalore, located in Oldmadiwala.

I checked with service providers Airtel ,TataIndicom ,Reliance , Hathway cable.

Airtel,Reliance & Hathway doesn't have hub near by my room(Oldmadiwala).

Tataindicom is bit expensive...like Installation charges + Monthly charges 1100 (for unlimited plan ).......installing dish on my room roof, if i want to shift the room, then again shifiting charges etc made me not go with Tata Indicom...

BSNL...it’s a time taking process ...left it

So by going through all the practical problems, I decided to go for Wireless internet connection...That is datacard...Which is wirefree...easy to carry...make use of it in traveling...etc
Now again big question is which one to go for?

One of the system peripherals shop owner in Bangalore suggested me to consider as per the below...

BSNL
Airtel
Reliance
TataIndicom

So guys please help me in taking rite decision. Which one to go for?
Purpose of using Internet
1. Surfing
2. Downloads (Games/movies/audio)
3. Chatting
Etc

My doubts about Data cards
1. Gets disconnected frequently
2. Upgradation of the speed on device is not possible

BSNL:

o. Good speeds. (200 - 300 kbps, observed)

o. Download speed is fine, I can download ubuntu 9.10 alternative overnight ( 5-6 hours).

I have been owning it for last 2 months. If you can get it, nothing like it.

If you go for the fixed antenna based ones: If you damage the antenna for any reason (dont ask!) they bill you 25k for replacing the antenna. Its in writing in the contract they make you sign up. Fine print pffft :@

Get a BSNL EVDO, even if its a time taking process. You'll pay 550 + taxes per month, and enjoy unlimited downloads at very high speeds. Speeds in free Rapidshare on an average are about 120 - 140KBps. Get a premium account and you are all set to download GBs of data.. Even in torrents from public trackers like mininova, I get a minimum of 60 to 70KBps speed.

Go for the EVDO..!

Edit: Noticed that you'll be roaming between 2 states. Currently BSNL only offers roaming within the same state.

@PSRN
Which TataIndicom plan costs Rs. 1100? I am using 256 kbps unlimited at 750 + taxes per month.

@axeman
Are you talking about the WiMax antenna?:O
