Which to get BC2 vs MW2 [PC]

I am thinking of buying one of them for the pc. Could anyone tell me which one I should get based on:-

1) The Multiplayer experience.

2) Lag in India. (My broadband connection is 1mbps, could increase it to 2mbps for less ping though)

BC2, anyday.

Although MW2 is easier to get a hang of, and I personally like it more for its arcade-ishness :p, but it's now filled with hackers. You'll find atleast 2-3 wallhackers, aim botters in every game u join. Also, you'll get decent pings depending on the time of the day, ie only when SGians or people from HK are playing.

BC2 has dedicated servers and I feel that alone is good enough to go for it over MW2. It has a slightly steeper learning curve, but fun nonetheless.

You can check http://www.techenclave.com/gaming/battlefield-bad-company-2-servers-play-163101.html, where they're discussing BC2 servers for Indians to play on, lag , etc.

A 2mbps connection will not give you better pings than 1mbps if it's from the same ISP.

Really? Well, I've got bsnl right now. Which isp would you recommend for online gaming?
 
Modern Warfare 2 ! Eyes closed :hap2:

BC2 doesnt even come close to MW2 .. BC2 gameplay seemed dumb to me .. Thats my personal opinion btw :p

A couple of years down the line, Activision may decide to turn off online for MW2. (Like EA turns off servers for FIFA 07,08 in 2010).

BC2 can be played as long as there are people playing the game. (Look at how Counter Strike is still played.)
 
Thanks for all the help guys, I looked around a bit and decided on getting BC 2.

One more thing, I am a bit confused about online play;

1) There are some people saying that increasing the net speed decreases ping while tifosi disagrees, could someone please clarify on this?

2) If I wanna use a microphone increasing the speed help then, right?

3) What do you guys think is the best isp for online gaming?

BC2 ftw, especially if you are looking for a more robust multiplayer experience, the realism is just stunning...

MW2 on the other hand has a more, as tifosi put it, arcade-ish feeling to it. Easy to learn and hard to find decent players online that just about describes MW2....:/
 
Ping is not dependent on net speed alone, contrary to popular belief.

If you are connecting to US server from India, you will always get a high ping, because of the huge distance. It will also depend on the ISP's routing to that particular server, too many nodes between ISP and server will give you high ping.

I am on a Tata Indicom Wimax, started off with 256 kbps, upgraded to 512, and now to 750 kbps. Helps a lot if you are into torrents, but my pings in CS have stayed the same.

Having said that, a higher netspeed will definitely help, as it will get the game data across faster. But don't expect a huge difference in pings.

As for the best ISP, depends on which city you live in. But try to avoid wireless.
 
I have both, and i have played like 120 hours of MW2, and about 12 hours of BC2.

I'd say MW2 = BC2.

Going in deteil, i'll like to tell u if u have played COD4 MP, then you will get a hang of MW2 MP very quickly... Very easy to play, you can actually start pwning noobs in the first game itself.. The MP part of MW2 is truely epic, i'll have to rate it in the top 5 mp games i have played, vertainlyl bettering COD4's MP.

BC2 on the other hand, is also an awesome game, has DX 11 if you have a DX card, looks amazing, plays amazing, has uber realistic game physics, like bullets drop in the air if shooted over a long distance, and practically what not. The game is kinda opposite of MW2, the same thing being both games are awesome.

But i'll most definitely say you to get BC2, as it costs 999 for the Limited Edition, and it will be supported way way longer than MW2. Even now MW2 has like no one playing in a low pinged servers if u try to play at 10 midnite, which is my fav time to play. Moreover MW2 costs like 2200 for the PC, as it is not available in India, so i see no reason to get it.

Cheers mate, buy BC2 and remain happy, and buy Black Ops in November :p no one gonna play MW2 then :D

I have decided on getting BC2 and will try getting TF 2 too.

One last thing, is it possible to play with my pals on the US/EU servers or will I have to look around for Indian and Pak servers to be able to play?

of course u can play on US server, expect pings around 300 there, indian routing to PAK is ****ed up, u may get ping > 350.. ( i DO)

And there aint no indian TF2 pub server so you will have to play Thai/Malay/Sg servers...

(btw TF2 is way better than both BC2 and MW2 xD)
 
Cant do a comparison to MW2 because haven't played it yet but for someone who used to be a hardcore MW player for the past 2 years and who now plays BC2, i would say you cant do a comparison between MW2 and BC2 as in apples to apples.

MW is more of an arcadish feel game (when compared to BC2) but the biggest difference is it's more of a one man show game especially since most of the servers are team deathmatch.

BF2 is more of a team effort where the maps are much much bigger and it is more of an epic feel. It still has its problems though with the random tube grenade landing on somebdys head and not killing him or bullets missing when shot at pointblank etc. In that respect MW is more polished.

But is MW2 worth 2200rs with no dedicated servers?? Err, no way. I would say show the middle finger to Activision and get the BF2 copy !! :D

FIXED, moreover Black ops coming out very soon, MW2 gonna be an obsolete game with all 1-2 bar servers for us indians.
