Hi MODs

Some times when I enter my password (Mostly at the time of loading of page but its not true always) in password field it shows the actual strings instead of masked strings (Dot...Dot...Dot). :huh:

Also it is not machine specific. I came across this issue on my Desktop,Laptop and office PC. :ashamed:

PS: My intension is to just bring this issue in notice, as Password should strickly be protected.

This happens sometimes when the page did not load properly, or when one tries to enter the details before the page has fully loaded.
 
@OP, your page was not properly loaded, so you encountered that problem.

Try refreshing the page once more.
 
When i used to be on mobile net i used to stop the page from loading completely, but never faced this issue. Maybe this is IE related, as i used to (and still continue to) use Firefox?
 
^ yeah that may be a problem too. From the screenshot it is clear that the page is not loaded completely, some of the pictures are not visible, yet according to the address toolbar, it is loaded.

So OP, you can try a different browser
 
If so then you may try opening other website, stop them in between before a full load and then see whether the passwords shows up there.

When opening some slow sites i simply stop the page as soon as i see the login box and never seen such issue on any browser.
 
It doesn't happen with other websites. I always put my username/password in mid of loading but none has shown its password yet.

Even for TE this scenario occurs occasionally, not always.

Also when it is showing password and if I put correct password then also it does not authenticate me, instead it shows me 'you have attempted once out of five' (something like that) and takes me to other page where I can again try and it works.

I can not regenerate the issue at will, as it is random.

Even today I entered my password before loading the page but it doent shown up.

If again it occurs I'll keep you posted.

^ don't worry buddy, as i have said before this is not a bug, so your password and ours as well are safe :)

Its a bug with te only as for now. As said earlier i dont face this issue with other sites or any similar forums.
 
@RVK2488, its not a bug because i am not facing it, nor any mass members.

Before your post, i didn't know that others were facing it. Sometimes back i faced it, after some R&D i came to know the cause - incomplete webpage download
 
@CAS50....Even with incomplete webpage loading the Password must not be visible in any case.
 
^ here you go, i tried to simulate your problem, stopped loading the page, and tried entering password, check the screen-shot

Yup. When designing the webpage, the password label box is such that it wont reveal the letter behind it. It can only be customize in asp.net via vb.net.
 
I have this problem as well, especially in my lab where the internet is often slow. This never happens in any other site.
