So i saw this phone with a friend and was really impressed with it.

The qwerty pad is awesome and this was the first N series phone by Nokia i really liked (it also runs Q3 Arena since its running on some sort of Linux).

However i could not find the phone in any of the local stores and had to order an E72 instead.

I will definitely be on the lookout for this one as a future upgrade,

Does anyone have any idea when this might launch in India.

Try never, the moronic brain-dead guys at Nokia India think that we Indians are not good enough for an advanced phone like the N900.

I was waiting for it to launch, but now I've given them the finger and got a Nexus one instead.

My friend bought it from this other friend of his who had got it down from the US.

Also he got it at a price of 25k ! and the phone is in brilliant condition.

The reason the other guy sold this phone was cause he had set a security code which he later forgot.

My friend after much research across forums, bought it, flashed it and now uses it like a pc on the go. I for one am seriously impressed with the phone, First non-laggy n series from Nokia, - that describes it all.

@psypher: great, join the n900 fan club. im actually waiting to see what the next N90x phone might be, before buying either this one or that :D

I had a NOKIA N900 i got it from mumbai @ herra panna market for 29K and after 1week use i gave the phone back to the same shop from where i got and in return got a google nexus one.

The nokia N900 was a great phone feature wise it was better than the nexus one but it's battery not even lasts for 4 hours [wifi off, bluetooth off,gps off] just used for normal sms and phone calls and the battery was like not even for 4 hours ...Let the phone have any extraordinary feature but when it's battery is so poor then huh ..... right now using nexus and it's a true smart phone !!!

The level of VOIP integration itself is something. True, mobile internet is pretty expensive here in India, but this will surely change. which would mean, FREE CALLS !

I thought sharing the appropriate thread for N900 discussions is in order as all of us here are more or less impressed with this smart device.

The N900 will (hopefully) be launched in India by March end. I heard this from a person working in Nokia USA. But even he wasn't so sure, as the company does not perceive India as an apt market for such a "geeky" phone, according to him.

are you sure that the battery is genuine? Did you try to check the battery's authenticity from Nokia's site?

N900 not lasting for 4hrs with all wireless off is totally unusualy coz it has a very good battery and should last atleast a day even after heavy use.
