Today i installed two LED light bulbs in my room replacing CFLs , one of the bulbs is right above the table where the STB is placed , about 5 feet above. When the LED above the stb is switched on the STB remote stops working & starts working again when the LED bulb is switched off , the other bulb is at the other side of the room & does not cause any issues .

Why is this LED interfering with STB remote?

All remotes use a tiny LED bulb to emit Infrared light as a signal emitter to the devices. The LED buld you hav installed is also producing some amount of Infrared light, which happens to be of the same wavelength as your remotes emitter. This causes interference, and since the LED bulb is bigger and closer to your STB, the amount of Infared light it emits is quite more than your remotes, plus its not "encoded" like your remotes LED emitter, so the STB might be trying to decode the Infrared signals from your bulb.

Just try placing a small reflector/cardboard on the side of the bulb where the STB is located, see if this helps. you try by holding a book or a magazine and ask someone to operate the remote. It may just resolve the issue.

Heres a schematic of how to get this: Remote........[SUP]LED bulb | Book[/SUP]...STB
