Graphic Cards Will my processor be a bottle neck

Hello friends.
I am planning to upgrade my RAM from 256Mb to 1GB. i would also like to upgrade my card ,from ATI 9200SE (AGP) to Nvidia 7600GT(AGP)
I have the following config ,
Motherboard-Asrock K758X v3(which can support max. of 2GB RAM)
Processor - Athlon amd 2400+, 2.0 ghz
My intention is to play all the latest DX 9 games. Will my processor support completely the above .Wont it be a Bottleneck???
Please guys i need an advice & my vacation is about to end..:(
 
it certainly would, my P4 2.4 bottlenecks my 7600gt so i presume that ur will to, but upgrading ram will only result in lower load times and it wont help in any Eye candies(except large textures which ofcouse ur processor will bottle neck) so its upto u to decide.
 
Change the Mobo and proccy too. Get X2 Be series if available else get 65nm Brisbane .. I guess X2 4400+ is now 3.5~ with a good 690 G mobo like Jetway or Biostar[if available] :)
 
But guys my budget is at the most 6k.:P . i dont want to change my pro +mobo for another 4-5 months ... after then i will go for huge upgrades:) ..But i cant wait untill then ... so i am thinking of upgrading only the card & RAM..inorder to play the latest games atleast in medium settings ;)
 
TE gurus which card do you think should i buy with following config .. inorder to play the latest games atleast in medium settings
1) RAM 1gb ddr
2) Asrock K7S8 v3
3)Athlon 2400+
I am not going to buy a brand new AGP,but settle for second hand....
My Budget is 5K .. and i want to play games such as STALKER,FEAR..
Please friends help me with this regard :huh:

Er.. I won't recommend you 8500 GT increase your budget till 7.2k and get Galaxy 8600 GT Factory OC.. and I am sure you will be able to play games at decent FPS at decent setting :)
 
@Darkstar, he needs AGP man...

My advice, get the best cards made for this rig, anything more then that is going to be bottlenecked by the CPU

nV 6600GT AGP or ATI 9800Pro
 
Thank you Deepak for your kind reply.I currently have ATi 9200SE . Do you think nv 6600GT or ati 9800 pro can run games such as FEAR, STALKER, Hitman blood Money ,Splinter cell...? with my existing card & Ram i can play games such as Prince of persia -2 thrones ,NFS MW with slight difficulty
 
Upgrade the RAM

FEAR and Stalker mite be difficult but definitely playable at lowest res and lowest settings.

As for the card, get it from TE itslef if you wanna, Vivek has it up for sale @2k

The 6600GT and 9800Pro perform similarly, you can get a 6600GT AGP from here at about 3-3.5k and it may have warranty leftover, so maybe worth checking out.
