i have uninstalled prev version and now using latest winamp version but problem still persist. all other music player(WMP, Real Player) are acting exactly same.
i dont know what to do:( :( :( :(

Check if you have some voice suppression settings for your soundcard.

Disable it if its enabled.

nothing like that i have realtek ac 97 audio which came built in with my 845bg intel board. any suggestions

There must be some voice suppression kinda thing running :P

Try reinstalling your soundcard drivers :)

And also check if ur speakers are properly plugged in

hi painkiller just go to ur sound settings and remove vocalisation everything will be fine check with ur sound settings at first place i had problem long ago with the same when i had p4 check the vocalisation settings

guyz looks like i have found the solution and let me tell u its very weird :D

when this "vocals-gone" problem occurred, i tried everything from re-installing my winamp to re-installing my sound card drivers but nothing worked. i was using my headphones for all this testing. after much head-banging, i connected my speakers to the sound card and WOW the song came crystal clear with all the vocals and music :ohyeah: so, more than anything else its the HEADPHONE problem. now as my speakers and sound card is working perfectly :hap2: i turned my attention to the headphone. i removed its 3.5mm jack and re-inserted it again to make sure that its inserted properly but vocals were still not coming from the headphone. this is weird...so i removed its jack and re-inserted it again only this time i didnt pushed it all the way inside the jack and WHOALLA vocals and music are now coming from the headphones. i tried this trick again and again the same result. so here is the solution..atleast for me :D.
1. IF I PUSH THE HEADPHONE JACK ALL THE WAY INSIDE THE SOUND CARD, THERE IS ONLY MUSIC WITH VERRRRY LOW VOCALS.
2. IF I PUSH THE HEADPHONE JACK ONLY HALF WAY INSIDE THE SOUND CARD, I GET PERFECT SOUND (MUSIC + VOCALS)

i know it sound weird but it worked:clap:    of course i would love to hear ur comments on this one

Not particularly weird - I have often had this problem. It means that the headphone jack has some sort of short circuit inside I guess.

try cleaning the jack... is ur jack gold plated ?

You don't need a driver wash ! check if the songs are playing fine in other players.
