Windows 7 explorer is crashing due to K-Lite Codec

Hi i am using window 7 x86 OEM.Today all of a sudden explorer is crashing every 2 minutes ,The file which is creating the problem is ffmpegmt.dll,did a bit of googling and came to know that the file is associated with K-lite codec,with great difficulty uninstalled the codec pack and now its fine.

I am surprised why this dll file is creating an issue.I am worried to install the codec pack again.What can i do to tackle this issue??

Do not suggest me to use VLC or KM Player:no:

Good it works for u, but is it very strange that MCP has issues with Windows 7. Anything strange indicates a problem within or something funny going inside.

Uninstall codec pack...just install ffmpeg codec...with real alternative codec...I think you won't need any other codec besides these...but I was wondering why you need codec pack in Windows 7...windows 7 plays all shorts of video file (except real media files) without any codec...
