I have some queries for connecting the wireless router to two or more laptops. Actually i and my friend will be moving on to a rented apartment and the telecom company is providing internet connection through a LAN cable which comes from a point in the home. Now we both will need to connect to internet using this single point and hence the option that we have is of having a wireless router. Now my question is that how can i connect the router to this LAN cable so that we setup a configuration with which we both can simultaneously connect to the internet.
In our case i suppose no modem is visible (need to find out though). In that case if we just have a LAN wire then how are we supposed to connect the same to router and then the router subsequently to the laptops.
Moreover will the two laptops be able to use the same connection simultenously ?
Any help in this regard will be highly appreciated.

Yes, this setup will work. The LAN cable coming from your ISP would need to be connected to the Internet/WAN port of the router. Both your computers can be connected to the router via ethernet or wireless, and they'd both be able to go online at the same time.

Ok... so how do i connect to the router. I mean we can actually login to the router (as we do a 192.168.1.1 for ADSL modem), so that i can say put an access password so no misuse of my internet happens.
