I'm witing an 80 page paper in MS Word 2002. Will someone will be kind and help me with the auto page numbering? I'll try to explain what I'm exactly doing in my Word document:
1.The beginning 6 pages in the document are Acknowledgment, Contents and Preface.
2.The contents page has been created manually (i.e. no fancy hyperlinked table of contents from Insert - Field process; I don't need that functionality).
3.The document is divided into Chapters; again manually i.e. I'm not using any Styles etc. for Chapter numbering .
4. Each Chapter has auto inserted footnotes. I'm using <Section Breaks - Next Page> to end each chapter so that I can start footnote numbering afresh with each new Chapter/Section.
What I want is that the Page Numbering (from Insert > Page Numbers) starts from Chapter 1, ignoring the starting pages i.e. no page numbers on Acknowlegdement, Contents and Preface pages.
I'm not a liberty to use a seperate, 'un-page-numbered' document for these starting pages, they have to be in the same documents as the main body.
Thanks.
