A friend of mine needs to revive his 8 year old box to serve as the file/print server on his home network....
Anything that can run XP without actin like a geriatric on his last legs will do :)

e.g. a Athon 1800 or a P IV 1.6 will do fine! (Or even lower)
It'll beconnected to an old b/w VGA monitor but will be running 24X7
Also He doesn't want to spend too much on it (obviously) :)

Anyone wanting to dispose some old machinery, plz let me know ASAP

i do not have an idea of the going prices for old mobos/proccys....

sorry if i am not complying with the rules here, but i am counting on the inputs from other members on this

I have a AXP 2000+ and a A7N8X-X mobo with 2X256MB of ram(one hynix d43 and one kvr333) to dispose off in a few days(is in my bro's pc now but I have got a new Sempron 2800+ and nf4 for him).Runs just fine.

Asking price:Rs. 4250/-+shipping.
 
pIV mobo Mercury or Millenium brand... which ever you like... Mercury has both SD and DDR RAM Slot... Also have 128 MB SD RAM... Will sell both mobo + ram for 1000 bucks.... what say.... only you need to get is proci....
