It seems that the leaks just don't stop (that's actually good news). Today, we have fresh new details about Microsoft's next Xbox console, code name Durango. The most interesting bit is that it's very close to what Sony's Playstation 4 will pack on the inside. Read on for more details.
Xbox "Durango" Specifications

It seems that the Xbox Durango will pack specifications that are really close to what the Playstation 4 will offer. Also, in a rare coincidence all the three new consoles of this generation by all three players (namely Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft) are packing AMD based chipsets for CPU as well as GPU functions (thumbs up AMD, god knows you need a break!).

The Xbox Durango will pack an SoC developed by AMD which will pack the following features:
  • AMD 8 cores, x86-64 bit with core clock @ 1.6 GHz
  • AMD DX11.1 class GPU, 800 MHz core clock
  • 8 GB of DDR3 RAM

Further, these are the salient features of the different models of the upcoming Xbox Durango:
  • Two variants, a 500 GB carrying PRO model and a 320 GB carrying ARCADE model
  • Option to upgrade HDD to 1 TB of storage
  • No Blu-Ray drive (sad)
  • Xbox Smartglass feature (yet to know more)

Microsoft is targeting a 3X compute power increment over the previous generation, which to be honest doesn't sound that impressive considering that the previous generation is 8 years old, struggles at 720p and that the new generation has to output at 1080p (that's 1920 x 1080 pixels).

The Xbox Durango is expected to start selling Holiday time 2014 which is around the same time Sony will start selling the Playstation 4. Coincidence much?
