The popular MIUI ROM for Android has found its own home - the Xiaomi Phone. It's a cheap droid ($310/€215 reportedly) with killer specs, made by Foxconn (yep, the factory that churns out Apple's iPhones).
The Xiaomi Phone packs stunning amounts of power for its price - a Qualcomm 8260 Snapdragon chipset with a dual-core 1.5GHz CPU, Adreno 220 graphics and 1GB of RAM. The battery packs plenty of juice, 1930mAh to be precise. That should be enough for two days of real life usage (real real life Xiaomi say).
The screen is a Sharp-made 4" LCD of FWVGA resolution (480 x 854 pixels) and the phone measures 125mm x 63mm x 11.9mm, weighing 149g. It packs a dual GSM/3G antenna to avoid any embarrassing death grip issues.
The specs go on: 8MP main camera, customizable MI button, both A-GPS and Glonass (The Russian alternative to GPS), Wi-Fi b/g/n, 4GB ROM, microSD card slotfor cards up to 32GB and interchangeable back covers (7 available at launch with more to come).
The OS is based on Android 2.3.5 and packs deep modifications courtesy of MIUI (pronounced "me you I"), which is also available as a custom ROM for other droids.
The Xiaomi Phone sounds unbelievably good for its $310 price tag - pre-orders start on 29 August and will be delivered in October. There will be a 1.2GHz version that will reportedly be even cheaper than $310 (we don't know how much though).

Bring it on i say. Please release them in India for <15k :D If they release through some decent brand which has good service n/w in India then i guess it will sell like hot cakes.

Not expecting this to launch in India tbh... Hmm , lets see what the price for the 1.2Ghz version is as i absolutely don't need that 1.5Ghz power. Might ask my Chinese friends to send me one :P

Preorder starts 29th August.Delivery by october.According to chairman of Xiaomi they want to be known as the Apple of China.

I am so glad that I am waiting and not jumping to buy Samsung Attain (S2 variant). Why can't Indian manufacturers jump in and make one of their own? :( If they can make a decent dual core phone for sub 20k with decent warranty/service, it would sell like hot cakes and provide stiff competition to Sammy, HTC and others.

Sory for the off topic but what is the difference between Galaxy S2 and the attain????
Cant find anything concrete on the net for the same all just rumors... Cause if it really has a qwerty keyboard will hold off the s2 purchase for now till attain releases... Can someone please confirm about the qwerty keyboard...

thanks and sorry for the OFF TOPIC AGAIN

There is not any major difference hardware wise. Only software wise since ATT and T-Mobile will add bloatware apps on top the existing Samsung TouchWiz UI. Plus the design will be different and have ATT/T-Mobile logos on the phones.

Samsung Attain is just an Galaxy S2 variant that is coming to ATT. Other variants of S2 is Samsung Hercules that is coming to T-Mobile. It is common for Samsung to release different variants to Big 4 in US: ATT, T-Mobile, Verizon and Epic. Just look at Galaxy S last year. Samsung released Galaxy S variants of Captivate (ATT), Vibrant (T-Mobile), Epic (Sprint) and Fascinate (Verizon)

specs shows it has only lcd screen.if it comes with led screen then we can compare it with s2.screen size is 4inch only.mali400 is more powerfull than adreno220.anyway if it outperforms then it will another wonder from china like my mi410

While it may not be better than S2. Given the price for the hardware it will be popular. The thing that matters is for the price you get a phone with decent Sharp 4" screen size, dual core processor, 8MP camera and I personally think Adrenos 220 is also powerful.

Reading this article will validate my point of how adrenos 220 hold its own ground

I still am worried about customer support. If it is reliable, this is absolutely a steal.
