Xonar U7..... New sound for laptop

On board sound from my Sony VAIO laptop goon little boring. So purchased this.

Using apple earphone, very satisfied with sound quality of Xonar U7

Just want to share some feedback.

This sound card is very good as a headphone amp.. and i am enjoying lots of music via headphones.
But yesterday i connected it with my desktop and tested it with 7.1 speakers configuration.. No satisfactory result.

Sound quality and depth of U7 sound card is very poor when compared with DX sound card, when playing with speaker outputs.
It's same as speaker output from Maximus Gene vi on-board sound.

Stereo or multi-channel speaker output all were not good with Xonar U7.

For Desktop i will continue using Xonar DX sound card.

Can you tell me what is the headphone amp rated at and also if possible which headphones you are using it with and their impedance.

It is designed for headphones even if it has speaker outs. Use only with quality headphones.
