Hi,
I get this msg "You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to TEusername again."
every time i try to rep a deserving member,
why i have to give it to anyone who haven't earned it, just for sake that i would be able to rep a member who regularly makes good Quality posts,helps us.
IMO this warning should be removed after some time.
 
^yeah :doh:.... so u think only one person derserves the rep all the time....

Look around first .... lots of people deserve rep.....

IMO check should remain.....

Lol, help some members or post some good articles to spread some rep and then rep someone; :P

U cant rep others cos U've not got any recently after u repped someone; :bleh:

As simple as that; :)

You can give reps even if you dont get any reps. The limitation in giving rep to same person too often is there to avoid abuse. The rep points very depending on user status, like the newly registered member gives 0 point rep.

Still I dont think anyone needs to give too much important to reps in the first place ;)

The recent reps I got from Darky [yest] and Bikey [yest ] aint enought to rep Darky for his Compiz Fusion thread???

I remember I didn't rep anyone in between; :|

Why's that then??? :S

You probably cant rep darky cuz u must've repped him recently! as in one of the last few people you repped
 
just feel liberal with the reps whenever you see some good work(its not like you're losing it) . I've never faced the issue :) , even if you do get it , all you need to do is to find a few good posts to spread the love :P
 
@Gaurish : Will u lose something if u give someone a rep....

Not everyone can live upto ur high standards for a rep from u :bleh:

When you are high on rep points you impart more rep points when u rep someone, but you CAN indeed rep anyone unless u have repped them recently...

Damn that was a tongue twister...
 
please scrap the rep system.please....! rotm etc is already interesting for members..why this bloody rep system? :[ also allow custom user title for new users too.

Yes Bikey I did take that in a +ve way; :)

But I just pour my thoughts wherever I feel I can help; somehow the thread turns to a spambait dunno hw; :ashamed:

For the 2nd statement, even if the first happens, I know the 2nd wouldn't; :bleh:
 
lol gannu, you got rep system totally wrong.

A rep point weitage does vary depending on the person who is giving rep, but that does not mean it stops a person without any rep from repping someone else.

You can give to anyone. But not to single person too often too quickly. If I have recently reped person A, i cant rep him back immediately repetatively even if i receive 1000 rep points in a day from other people. You have to rep some other people and then only you will be allowed to rep the same person A again.

This system is in place so that 2 people cant abuse it by passing reputation points to each other repetatively.

Damn, no wonder people get confused!!!!!

+1 from my side. I have to confess that I'm a bit partial towards reps. Every now and then I open my user CP and gloat over my reps :ashamed:

aaaaaaw ur only saying that cause you have a lot of reps :P

I think it's good as it is too..... keeps everyone honest ;)
