This is an amusing new trend, timely announcements for India, but no information on availability. In reality it is as it was before, it will pop up one fine day a few weeks down the line with a somewhat similar price. All that has changed is a token but useless announcement on global release date. Come on, the entire world gets these cards on time! Especially since India is one of the closest markets to most AIB partners, it makes it all the more baffling.

^^ I think it's the distributors and retailers playing all the dirty games. they still want to clear out all the old junk at premium prices to unsuspecting customers, and also milk the informed ones by the way of preorders.

Yes, it is obviously the distributors for the reasons you mention. I bet Asus, Zotac and the likes have shipped out their cards earlier this week (like they have to all major markets worldwide) and they are sitting in a warehouse somewhere.

GTX 650 is garbage. In fact, it is slower than previous-gen GTX 550 Ti yet costs more! Better to get a 7770 which costs about the same and is massively faster.

OT :

Obviously distributor non sense , why would a company not want to profit , its their distributors that ill advise them , even sometimes force them to avoid certain decisions like price cuts in India .
They know people would anyways buy it ! .
This cartel continues to flourish in India and its there in most sectors .
I heard read about a lot of consumer items , even cars , bikes , etc . But the overall worst customer service award goes to the Computer Market .

What pains me most is other countries get better customer service and support for prices much lower than what we pay and are subjected to troublesome service ! .
Arent there any background checks the firms do before handing out a contract , or just go on the muscle power of these firms .
Whatever it is , I dont blame them , they are what they are , visible to everyone , its the silence on the firms that troubles much more . I blame them for the service and prices being miserable .

With the governments new policy on FDI,I hope companies like amazon or newegg will start shops in the country. We could really use some competition in computer sales sector.
