Source: Techtree.com India > News > Consumer Electronics > New AMD-based Acer Aspire Notebook Now Available

According to the post made on Techtree above, the new Acer Aspire 5536 has an AMD processor and an ATI Mobility Radeon 4570.

The best part is that it costs only Rs. 28.5k for the Linux version and 30.5k for the Vista Basic version.

Before reading this post, I had not realised what a worthless card that ATI 4570 was(even though it is much much better than the Intel 4500M crap). I thought that Dell was offering a good card for the Studio 15 and I was even considering going for the Studio 15 just because it had that graphics option.
Now I would never think of buying the Studio 15(even though I know that Acer ASS is bad).

Acer and AMD combo rulez!!(not in ASS though but in product specification)

acer 5536 doesnt have a gfx card,5536g has one n it costs around 45k

The Dell Studio 15 has Intel T6400 and ATI 4570 and other components almost same but costs 43k.

So there is no way that the Acer 5536G is going to cost 45k(since it has AMD processor).
There is no way the price of the 5536G is more than 38k.

Exactly where did you see its price to be 45k?
P.S: I am not being able to open the Acer India website from yesterday night on both my computer and mobile. Has anyone else faced this problem.

The Acer 5536G has a Turion RL-74 processor as against the QL-64 in the 5536 and 3 GB RAM against 2 GB

The AMD Turion RM-74 does not seem like too much of an improvement over the QL-64.

I based my conclusion on this benchmark list: Notebookcheck: Mobile Processors - Benchmarklist

The RM-74 is in 84th position while the QL-64 is in 88th place.

and in that test , Intel's T3200 which you can find on almost all 30k notebooks outperforms both by a comfortable margin , so AMD's offerings seem pretty unimpressive

I have to buy a laptop myself and am considering this , 29k seems to good a price whats worrying though is that some reviews say Acer laptops have bad battery life , anybody has any experience with their battery life ?
