might consider a costlier one also if its exceptionally good

Sony digital camera are not good ones, better if you opt for Canon they rule in it,

I would not go with Sony, Whatever Sony cams i have seen has lag b/w clicking the button & taking the pic, God knows why is that.

Would go with Canon..
