Hi guys i want to buy a laptop from USA ,my friend is in newyork he will getting it from best buy. I have shortlisted 15inch DELL Inspiron with AMD ATHLON 2 2.1ghz, 320gb HDD,3gb ram. windows 7 home premium costing about 500$.
so is this good buy or any other laptops with in that range.

kindly read the first post before blindly suggesting macbook pro, he is looking at around $500 and i think he should go for Dell or asus as they provide international warranty on laptops. Here are some more options in that range, better to go for an intel based laptop:

the links you gave not working

^^Dont know why the links are not working,just go to bestbuy.com=>computers=>laptop computers then select the (less than $600) range,you will get many dell,asus laptops in that range.

I did that before posting here, from the list i selected Dell, is asus laptops good when compared to dell

Read the first post, its clearly mentioned that he is looking for a laptop in $500 range and the first post is UNEDITED, i can understand you love apple products but kindly read others requirement before recommending apple products.

@bsd

both Dell and asus provide international warranty but the dell support is the best in india and its better to go for an intel based laptop as amd laptop processors are battery hungry and produce a lot of heat.

IINM some ppl where of the view that Dell systems bought from Best Buy do not carry intl warranty. So plz make this clear before u buy a dell from Best buy.

^^Thats strange, AFAIK the warranty depends on the serial no. and we have to get it transferred by calling dell india.

no the rules for dell purchased from usa r diff here . bought a dell recently from dell india just because of that or else dell is cheaper in the US
