^^ Glacial tech 650W is cutting too fine for a 4850 X2.

Compared to GTX 275, 4850 X2 is a better card but like all multi-GPU solutions it also has a few drawbacks. I will suggest if your monitor is 22" or less, stick to single GPU solution

for full HD 4850x2 1gb is useless ,i had 4850x2 2gb before it had too many driver and crossfire issues , POS card . 512 mb per core will be too less for full HD ..

even GTX 275 wont be able to turn on full eye candy at that resolution ,

getting 4890 and ocing a bit would be better option as it performs similar to GTX 285 or better after oc .

I was going through this review while surfing...

Best PCIe Card: $200 To $390 - Review Tom's Hardware : Best Graphics Cards For The Money: April '09

It says that the small performance improvements provised by other cards are not a justification for their higher prices. The 4850 X2 is the best VFM.

Or if you want ultimate performance and with the budget of 15k, go for the 4890. That's the best card in the market and is one hell of an overclocker. It is also cheaper than the nVidia cards of similar performance.

Isn't the 4850X2 a power hog?

Yes it is power hog, its always better to go for a single card than CF or SLI, go for gtx275 or HD4890. IMO,get HD4890, overclock it and that will suffice for your monitor.

+1 on that. The GTX 275 and the 4890 are very close in performance. So either one goes. I went for the MSI GTX 275 Twin Frozr OC myself. :D Dunno too much abt the 4850 so can't help you there. :)

^ both are equal in their own manner.. just depends on what brand you prefer there.. id stick with nvidia considering the number of errors i got on my 4850 :ashamed:
