Customs Duty on RMA'd Items

Is there any exemption of duty on items that have been purchased abroad, imported, duty paid and then need to be sent out of the country for repairs or replacement? If customs is levied again on the repaired/RMA'd item wouldn't it amount to double taxation?

Does anyone here have experience in this matter? Could someone shed some light on what documents are necessary to get an item RMA'd without having to pay customs again?

I too had to RMA somestuff - found out you need to provide a copy of the RMA form + the other end should declare that since its for RMA - has zero taxes.
