I've given every possible info I could, do let me know if i missed any. I am using a wired connection.

EDIT:Someone reporting atl1c driver is broken? https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=140550

Atheros/Attansic was a problem device earlier. I've had a onboard card(Atheros L1 or L2 forgot) on My Mobo. it got fried during thunderbolt in kerala monsoon :D thanks to bsnl broadband.

Yours uses atl1c module, Hope Your kernel may be recent(3.2/3.3). try "lsmod" and see if any other atheros wired network module makes conflict? remove/blacklist atl1,atl1e and any other lan driver modules or suspected modules. then restart and see whether it works.
OR, You may post the output of "lsmod" here. also post kernel version(command: uname -r)

this is what I saw. it says you disable wifi and try if the link became stable:
https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=88466

Another option to debug is, When You see link is down, you open a terminal and as sudo:
Code:
sudo -s (give passwd)
tail -f /var/log/syslog
then, open another terminal and run:
Code:
sudo /sbin/ifup eth0
and observe the messages in the other terminal(where tail -f is running). I cannot understand your network whether it is dhcp or static one. if static ip, then put it in /etc/network/interfaces file.

I have a wireless router's lan port connected to My PC land card assigning dhcp address to the pc. so, My /etc/network/interfaces looks like:
Code:
auto lo
iface lo inet loopback
auto eth0
iface eth0 inet dhcp
You can put static IP also.

Then, post the output of tail -f /var/log/syslog here.
