I am looking forward to gift my Brother a pair of Cans on his birthday.

My budget is max 3k. Need your suggestions.

The philips SHP 9000 is a very good headphone,though its a bit expensive,try using some coupon codes and get it off from ebay.Its an VFM product.Can you please tell what will be the source??

Any specific reason you are looking for a headphone.How about gifting him some good IEM which will sound amazing.Just my 2 cents

Philips 8900 is a more bassy can than the Philips 9000. The Philips 9000 is a bit bass light and requires an amplifier to shine. Its difficult to use the 9000 straight out of an onboard sound card.

i have the SHP8900 and i love it, though its bit large and heavy. But you wont feel its weight once u put it on.

It runs fine on my sound card, but its truly amazing with an amp.

it has 50mm neodymium drivers, open ear cans, detachable OFC cable 4M, 24k gold plated connectors and all.
