Hello Friends..
how to change dynamic ip address without power off modem?

OS: Windows XP 2002 pro service pack 2
ISP: BSNL
Broadband Plan : UL750
ADSL Modem: UT-300R2U
Dynamic IP : BSNL old server starting with ip range 59.*.*.*
router-type setup :router (modem) is configured with a PPPoE connection (ALWAYS ON)

Based on the question asked.. I doubt you can follow my instructions.. but anyways.. someone has to try

1) Open Browser

2) Type your router's IP address (ususally 192.168.1.1 )

3) Go to Connections/WAN section (dont know what it would be called on your router)

4) There should be a button or link stating that you can disconnect

5) Internet will go down.. now click Connect to force the router to connect.. (some routers may auto-reconnect)

Hope you get back.. or else its gonna be a long time till you can post back here again

Ciao

IP addresses are assigned to users from a pool. If you use the disconnect/connect method without waiting for some time, chances are you will get the same IP as before. Same is applicable for the manual switching ON/OFF of the modem. Check if you are getting the same IP by resetting the connection, might need some time delay to guarantee a different IP everytime.

If you want an automated solution for reconnecting the modem, then check here.
