Graphic Cards new 7870, DOA?

before sending it for RMA just try another PCIe card from friend but it should be pretty low end without any power from PSU. No need to go into Windows and OS stuff. just BIOS display. if that comes then send your card for RMA if not then send your mobo for RAM

Ok, understood. Was able to arrange Nvidia 8400 from one neighbor. Will post what happens. That PC does not have 500W PSU, so cannot check there. So will attach it to my system.

But, now I am on one firm conclusion that there is some H/W defect either with MoBo or GPU.

I am so pissed, right now. New PC trolled me. really.

Update.

Installed 8400 nvidia. And voila , success. So now I know that mobo is fine.

Now it can either be psu which I think is not, coz Gpu fans are running. Mostly it's Gpu only.

Can you swap your psu and gpu on his system for more confirmation

Unfortunately that's not possible. I guess now I have to contact aditya for rma/doa.

damn sapphire,,just remind me the similar experience with my 4670 long time back.but thanks to Aditya I got a 4850 with little extra money

Received New GPU today. Just installed and checked.
All working fine. First card was indeed a culprit.

Yet to run benchmark or play game. Windows performance index gave 7.9 to GPU. Overall score 5.9 (lowest of HDD)

Need to shift my steam folder from my laptop to New PC now.
