I am using this remote with my HTPC setup for the past six months. Its a nice remote, very good alternative remote for HTPC owners.

I bought it from dealextreme.com for $10 or so.

You can use it with a laptop. This remote is just a keyboard and Mouse combination. All the Key board shortcuts are assigned to single remote keys. (for example, alt + enter key is assigned to a key named as full screen). You don't need any drivers, as this is just keyboard and mouse.
