Portforwarding issue with UT300R2U + DI 624 combo

This is my current setup and I've problem downloading torrents.
| UT300R2U |===Hardwired====| DI 624 | < Wi Fi < Desktop

(PPoE)

I've the Router (DI 624 WAN IP : 192.168.1.2) added to the DMZ in the modem (UT 300R2U). In the router I've a virtual server that allows access to port 55555 in my desktop (Static IP 192.168.0.2). However a port scan using Nmap shows that port 55555 is closed in my desktop. Due to this torrents are really slow. Am I missing something ? Is there an alternate way out ? I've been tearing my hair over this for the past 1 week

:huh:

Fixed it atlast, it turned out to be an issue with the windows installation in my desktop! The port is open when I check using my laptop.

Why don't you use PPPoe Connection(Bridged) instead and let your router dial the connection so that the router gets live public IP (not lan one).

And then use port forwarding of your router to forward the ports to the specific lan IP.

Also you can use dynamicDNS (dynDNS.org) for static domain --> dynamic IP reflection.

It has always helped me for remote desktop connections. :)
