hey,
i need a general purpose laptop...30k to 50k

used for entertainment(movies and music), and very little gaming (i mean 8600gt mobile if possible but even that is not necessary)
would prefer a larger harddrive compared to cpu performance :p

and also, as the title says it has to be HP for a employee discount :)

and btw, it should run vista properly...it shouldnot struggle with vista so plz suggest a decent graphics processor

i saw a 9000 series hp one for 43k i was very impressed.

1.9 ghz amd x2
1gb ram
250gb
256 gfx nvidia card
fingerprint scanner
altec speakers
17 incher

i amthinking myself this hp or dell 1525

^^i think a 17inch laptop is a bit too big to tug around :)

i am looking at something like a compaq v3700
2ghz amd TL-60
2gig ram
160gig hdd
nvidia 7150/630i chipset
i think its 15inch

whts your budget pappu??
If you are ready to spend around 45k then spend more and go for Studio 15 with X3100, T5850, 3gb RAM, 250gb HDD, etc. also you'll get a bluetooth headphone free with it worth 2k-3k or so, this config will be for 47k with vashi billing.

Again, if you are willing to spend 50k as i can see in ur post..then add 1k more and go for same Studio 15 with Vashi billing..following is the config:
T8100
256mb ATI HD 3450
3gb RAM
250gb HDD
15.4" CCFL Truelife Screen
Graphite Grey with Black U-Trim
No Carrying Case
Bluetooth Headphone Free(compulsory)
WLAN b/g
Bluetooth Module
Backlit Keyboard
90 W AC Adapter
...etc Total Comes to 51k with Vashi...If you add a 4gb ram or a fingerprint reader then you can try for their corporate scheme and get the additional stuff for the same price ie. 51k-51.5k with vashi billing, which means you get around 2.5k discount..try out with the presales of Dell :hap2:
