Friend of mine is in hunt for a lappy. His budjet is only 25k. His primary usage will be Browsing & Office Applications. plz reckon only from these brands - HP, Dell, Lenovo & Compaq.

15" display is must

They havent changed since 2007..same config in the lower end, the higher power processors come and are phased out instead of lowering the price..:mad:

From where did you see that it had a Core 2 Duo processor at that price???

I think it only has a Celeron M processor. At least the version which retails for Rs.25662 has a Celeron M processor.

well i m using this

it has a c2d processor 1.6ghz

and not celeron m as u think :p

only con is no webacm , a its a business series laptop!!

and only single speaker

the sound is not good at all, so for movies u have to use ext speakers,

and no bag included in the price

the model is listed on dell website- vostro A840

but to book ur order u have to call dell customer care- corporate sector,

this was available for 25662/ on 31st march 2009

it was dell year ending sale

now i think its 29662/

Have you called and spoken to them already? U can really nego quite a bit with Dell Chaps. If you have some patience, wait till 10 days be4 the quarter ending and bargain really really hard, if they dont reduce the price, u are sure to get a bag at minimum, with more ram, and possibly larger battery/ extended warranty at nominal cost.
