Alternate motherboard choices

GIGABYTE GA-M68MT-S2P - 2.2k

Asus M4N68T-M LE V2 - 2.2k

Asus M4A78LT-M LE - 2.7k (Best choice if you are able to find the AM3 version with IDE)

If you are willing to spend ~2-3k extra then you can go for the rig suggested by Jakob with a 250GB SATA HDD ~ 3.6k
