im having a Godrej Voltz IN800SQ square wave inverter and need to replace the battery (AMCO 100aH). Which brand of battery would be best suited for this inverter? Also, i would like to go with anything with 100-150aH rating. Have heard that Exide is good, but what about their warranty (A.S.S. is very imp)? Please suggest...

well if you want a battery that lasts really long get the exide EL or EL+ comes with 4 and 5 years warranty respectively.but will last around 6 to 9 years with proper maintenance.

the amaron shield is the same as their automotive truck batteries, they weigh far less then equivalent Exide batteries, which means exide has more thicker lead plates.

Using Exide Inva Tubular 150Ah Battery from 2006,

It is the best battery in the inverter market in that time, Though it need to top up,
Don't know about new gen Dry Battery.

Ok thanks alot for the input!! :) one thing though... these batteries require maintenance, so that means the water level has to be checked from time to time, that's it right?? or anything else you have to do??

yeah, apply petroleum gelly (Vaseline) on the terminals,so as to avoid formation of Carbon particles which reduces charge..

check water level once every month.

well if you completely discharge the batteries it will certainly effect the water quantity,if you buy a tubular batteries like the Exide EL or EL+ ,you just need to check the quantity of distill water every 3 months, the EL range has the water level indicators.

normally twice a year you may have to fill it with distill water and apply petroleum jelly i.e vaseline.
