1st washing machine !!

Hi

Need to buy fully automatic washing machine. No brand preference as such. Please advice.

Would like to go for VFM, as budget constraints are there. So please advice as i have no clue, 1st time buying a washing machine !

whatever you buy please try to avoid lg. i purchased one some 3-4 years ago and lot of problems appeared, changed the drum 3 times due to rust and all that.

Onida!!! VFM. 6.5Kgs top load comes for 13k.

Best colors and looks among IFB, Samsung, LG, Videocon.

It has a Brush also and is more powerful in its genre of Machines

I would suggest rather go for front load, its technologically superior. I personally got an IFB one since over 10 years now and still going good.. (requires periodic servicing though)

^^I would not exactly say Technologically superior:)

Front Load Cleans ur clothes better as they have operate in dual cycles and are quite expensive. Front load takes 1-2 hrs for a wash whereas top load u can get a wash in 30-45 mins and max 60 mins:)

More drawbacks:)

U can't put additional clothes in a front load machine once a wash cycle is started:(

If u have not connected the machine with a hot water outlest; u cannot manually put hot water like in top load

Again...quite expensive a 6.5Kg would cost u around 30k whereas 14k for front load:)

^A good front loader take as low as 50 min to wash and dry it to 85%,while consuming lesser water then top loaders,
front loaders that have built in heater so they do not need hot water, you have the option right from 40°C to 90° C .

I don't think all front loaders have buit in heater:) BTW: top loaders also have built in heaters now (read whirlpool)

I was just wondering why did someone point out front loading machine as technologically superior?

Its very difficult to find a front loader without a heater. A top loader with heater costs almost as much as a front loader with heater. Its only the higher capacity models that are expensive in front loads. A 5kg front loader for sub-15k (Whirlpool, IFB, Onida) is the best budget choice. If you are willing to spend a little more get one of the LG direct drive models for sub-20k.

The wash cycles in front loaders are as flexible as top loaders and you will find a routine that finishes in 45mins.

Well for the budget option of 5kg to 5.5kg nothing better then whirlpool ones, its much better built then IFB ones.
the 7kg high end whirlpool have one of the best if not the best build quality out there.

mine is lg clean master wd 8001 ci front load. was going to buy ifb that time but @$$h0l3 showroom manager convinced my father that lg is far superior and now we have to repent.

well, after reading all your comments and checking reviews, i guess i should go for WHIRLPOOL. As mentioned, it has better build quality. Good service i GUESS ?! VFM and in budget.

Can someone please mention the model number please.

Thank you

What nonsense, i have siemens IQ700 series front washing machine, i can put additoninal clothes once the wash cycle start,it is mostly model specific, front loader are way better then a top loader any day.

Trash...

i have IFB 5.5 kg, real VFM, front load far superior than topload...really you dont meed 6.5 kg if you have family of 4 or 5.

who said that front loads wont come with heater? front load is safe for clothes..

i dont know your budget..but i suggest go for IFB (my machine is 25K). You can spend little more rather than regretting later spending on crap...

my own experience.

even i am in favor of front load & IFB. My budget is max 20k. But after reading tons of -ve reviews on IFB i decided to go for Whirlpool. The major problem with IFB is frequent service and poor serving by the company ( that's what i have read on mouthshxx.com ).

Need to buy today itself. Please advice -

IFB
or
Samsung
or
Whirlpool ??

Thank you

Speaking from my 10 years experience of using an IFB front load, i would not say servicing has even been any issue. Technicians have promptly fixed the issues as and when they arise. The problems are none major, expect for the regular wear and tear that happens, for example belts, rubber parts, etc. Also, just if case you were not aware, front load would always demand more maintainence than top load due to more moving parts, but the advantages it offer outweighs this drawback. One additional thing that ppl seems to have skipped mentioning here is front loads don't entangle clothes unlike top loads; hence much better.

I see everyone saying its superior...its superior; care to tell us why its superior?
I had a budget of 30k but since I could not find the actual reason why these are called as superior I got a whirlpool top loader with heater for 15k
your 'superior' talk is just like the showroom salesman mate; no reasoning provided:) (No offense meant mate)
