In continuation to our efforts to bring in more content to the readers of TE, we finally want to start the AOTM contest as well.

As proposed some time back
  • AOTM will be judged from the articles posted on the portal in a given month
  • There should be at least 10 articles submitted in a month by the TE member base (this does not mean that each member needs to post 10, it means that atleast 10 articles should have been posted in a month).
  • If the number of articles submitted is less than 10 then the articles will get carried forward to the next month.
  • The categories of articles should be Reviews, Buying Guides, Howto Guides.

The articles will be judged on the following (they do not have equal weightage but are in order of importance)
  • Depth of coverage
  • Presentation
  • Length
  • Popularity of the Article

The top most article gets featured on the sidebar like MOTM (which is yet to start). It also gets a cash prize worth INR 2,000. The second place article gets a cash prize worth INR 1,000.

This may not seem like a significant amount but it is just a token of appreciation from our side. We have bigger plans coming in the near future for this.

Article posted this month will get carried forward to Feb. So start posting your articles as soon as you have them ready.

PS: Even mods are eligible for this.
 
What are the rules regarding the articles with respect to them being TE exclusive or can be posted in personal blogs or other forums?

In case they need to be TE exclusive, is it a permanent exclusivity or time based?

2K can pay for my mobile and internet expenses every month . Just saying.

Anyways, How will these be judged ? Voting or Mods will decide ?

Good that you asked. They have to be TE exclusive for at least a month. They have to be originally worded too. You understand that we do not want to be penalised by search engines.

For some big wigs it may be insignificant but we want them to participate anyway as their prowess is always needed to guide the rest. We can plan for a third too. Will look into it.

It will be decided internally but not necessarily by mods.

I have done a few "amateur" reviews and thus my second question is- Can past work be submitted here?
