Need 2.1 Speakers for less than 4k

Hi,

I want to buy 2.1 speakers for less than 4000 rupees.

My need:

1. For movies, songs and Gaming.

2. For me sound Quality is really important.

What i have?

1. An old audigy 2 External sound card

2. Audio Technica M 35 Headphone

What do i prefer?

I have been going through forums for the past few weeks and i was very much inclined to buy Edifier C2 from Naaptol. But recently a fellow member has posted that Naaptol is going to return the money since its out of stock.

I cant find the Edifier HCS 2330 which is nicknamed as C2 Plus anywhere in India. And C3 is way too costly for me now compared to its price a year before. I even had a look at the Swans M10 speakers recently imported to India by another fellow member but i have two problems in buying it. One is the price, though if you guys say that is the best 2.1 set i am ready to pay till 6.6K for it. The other problem is i have a moving Computer table and my 24 inch Desktop Monitor will occupy most of the space in it. So i can accomodate only the Left and Right Speakers. i cant place the Sub Woofer behind or in in front of monitor due to space constraints. i have seen posts saying Swans M10 Sound Quality when not kept directly in straight of the listener.

So any model i buy i should only keep in below the sitting level.

Since this is the first speaker system am buying i want to make sure i land up with the best within that price range.

I live in CHENNAI. I am ready to buy online and am also ready to go to RITCHIE street and buy.

Please let me know your thoughts.

they are fast (not very fast though) in general; I have received my products with in 5 days times.(Never ordered something this big yet
 
Ordered on 4th, initial Estimated shipping date was 11th. They changed it to 14th due to " Unavoidable Circumstances". Now they have changed the shipping date again to 17th for the same unknown reasons. Will they ship or after one month or so they will say product is out of stock ....?

Its not just the total output power that matters in a speaker. You got to get the best sound quality, no matter even if you buy speakers for a thousand bucks or any upward price

you could have brought it from Ebay.in; peace of mind at least, i never liked snapdeal personally though. You could have applied coupons and got the deal at 4.2K
 
Would recommend that you try keeping the subwoofer on the floor in a corner. It should sound more natural with less boom compared to keeping it in on a shelf on your computer table. Try out different placements and choose the one you feel sounds best

Can you elaborate more on the placement of subwoofer ? I placed mine on the floor but could not feel the thumps. I have a F&D A520 which has a nice big 6.5" subwoofer.

ofcourse sound quality matters man, but it's Sony after all...! you'll get the same level of SQ with double power.

I ordered few small items and everything was shipped within 5 working days. But never tried them for such things so can not comment for sure.

Sorry to be on your face, Just being a SoNY doesn't make it look like its going to give you the best sound. If you are brand conscious, i'll let go of my argument. There a lot many brands availiable cheaper by the penny too and produce excellent sounds. But they are lesser choice at a low budget.

jumping the gun too soon, eh? I never said buy it because it's Sony branded! At 4k, they're quite competitive when compared to Edifiers and other similar brands.(don't believe me, just go somewhere and audition yourself!)

Ofcourse they're no JBL/B&O or audio-monitor grade, but you just can't go wrong in this price-range (SQ-wise and after-sales-service-wise too), because of the level of trust they've built over the years.
 
I have recieved this from Snap Deal now.

"You are receiving this notification because one or more items in your order have been cancelled. We at Snapdeal deeply regret the inconvenience caused to a valued customer like you, and extend our heartfelt apologies."

When called them and asked the reason they said " The product shipped but failed to clear airport since it was damaged. We had only one product and that too has been damaged now."

Order Date: April 4th

I am terribly disappointed with them. ( I dont think i am going to buy anything from them again any soon).

Guys, i have some queries.

Tomorrow morning am going to order speakers.

Shall i order the same Edifier C2 from Ebay.in or do you guys have any other options for me under 5K ( Strictly under 5000 INR).

Please share your thoughts...
 
iirc, Edifiers have got a poor record regarding mileage.

Something or the other keeps conking off. Just check with current owners/experienced people.
