Honeymoon destination - Asia

Planning my honeymoon now. Wedding's in the last week of Jan. So I need to make a headstart and grab any deals. Honeymoon is gonna be for 6 nights in the first week of February. Any place other than Asia is out of my budget
Budget: 1 lakh including stay, meals and airfares.
Place: Prefer beaches but snow-clad mountains are also fine.Need a place where it's just me and my fiancee. But townside should not be far too. After a couple of days it would get boring if there's no activity. We prefer a good resort but should be a good 10-15 min ride away from the nearest town. Eating all meals at the resort would get expensive. Also in such remote islands, getting to town would take 30 mins of boat ride usually. Also we like checking out the local cuisine. Thats the fun part. Other adventurous activities are a definite plus. Even if it's not 5 star, 4 star is quite fine.
Duration: 6 night should be good.
Idea: Need a
Possibilities: (Beaches)
Thailand(Krabi, Koh Samui etc). Dont plan to go to Bangkok or Phuket. Dont want to go Bangkok or Phuket and do usual sight seeing stuff. Want to keep the fiancee away from any possible shopping avenues too :p
Andamans: Place is really nice. But there r no good luxury resorts where we can enjoy a little. I dont like to stay at a resort with no phone or no electricity. Plus the airfare at Andamans gets almost as much as it does to go to Thailand.
Maldives: Again would love to go to this place but dont like the idea of getting holed up in 1 resort for 5-6 days straight. Maldives is expensive I ear.
Vietnam: The usual crowd doesn't go here, so this could work out for me. 4 star resorts might cost less. If it's really less(crossing my fingers) I could throw in Cambodia too)
Sri Lanka: As expensive as Thailand I believe.

(Mountains):
Sikkim: This is the only place that we could like since we have not been there. We have both been to Shimla-Manali etc. Gangtok-Darheeling-another town in sikkim is doable. any ideas?
Kashmir: Always dream of this place but security is a concern.

I am from Bangalore and have been to most places in South.
I know I have mentioned a lot of constraints but I wanna make the best use of my money. Taking a personal for all this you see :( So any of you who could share their experiences, suggestions... you are most welcome.

I checked Thailand. Airfares in Feb cost 40k return. 4 star place could cost me 3k-5k baht which means 30k INR for a week or less. Rest is for meals and misc expenditure.

I DO NOT wanna go to a package tour. Dont plan to be hurried all day long in a tour bus!!!

Isn't Lakshwadeep again like a place where's there's 1 resort in 1 island? Going back to the mainland takes a lot of time on boat.
Seychelles.. sadly doesn't fit my budget :(
@damn,
Thanks :) but alas, I can only try

Nepal. No beaches, but definitely snow capped mountains. You might also want to check out this: The Last Resort, the perfect adventure destination for an active and relaxing holiday in Nepal
Might definitely save you a lot of bucks, while still being an unforgettable honeymoon. See if you can link Gangtok from Kathmandu, if you so desire. You can get better itinerary suggestions at indiamike forums.

P.S: Nepal is top in my list when I can afford to spare some cash for vacations. :p

Vietnam and Cambodia is definitely doable within 1L. If from Bangalore, why dont you check out the fares on Air Asia? They've flights from Bangalore/Chennai. A 5 star property costs as much as a 3 star in New York (according to the Internet). Dont spend much on airfare, instead spend on stay and dining and/or sight seeing. The Thailand islands are kind of a ripoff actually unless you happen to know some locals.

Check out Malaysia.

I had gone to Srilanka > Malaysia > Singapore for my honeymoon. It was a month long expedition......

Quite open to Malaysia too. But the resorts I checked out for the hell of it, were expensive. How would the itinerary be?

In Malaysia try out Hotel Grand Continental. I could see Petronas tower outside the window. But Ahem was not there to see Petronas ;-)
After that you can go to Genteng Island. Awsome place. Book ur room 1st World Hotel. The rooms are a little small compared to Hotel Grand Continental.

I was going to suggest Phuket but it seems you have ruled that out. Whatever you do please do not got to any concrete jungle.
Btw when I was planning my honeymoon someone had suggested me some place called Langkawi. You may see what it is.

You may search for a thread opened by me back in 2010 in this general talk section.

Sri Lanka should be cheaper than Thailand.

Malaysia will also be doable in your budget.

Do check out Andamans too, I went with that option. Cost around 1L total for a week. Havelock Island is a nice place to chill with decent resorts.

Sri Lanka seems to be pretty good. When I saw Jism 2 (the movie sucked though), some of the locales shot in the movie were absolutely gorgeous! :scared14:

And it's pretty cheap too. Good for a honeymoon destination I'd say. Thailand is the favourite destination among bachelor parties. Not a perfect honeymoon destination I'd say.

I did check Sri Lanka and the cost comes about the same. Andamans is quite nice but the place lacks luxury resorts. You see... I dont have any luxury trips usually. It's always budget.. so this time I wanna lap it up a little.

But seriously.. how good is Air Asia?

Andaman is pretty nice..

We visited there, this January and it was pretty awesome..
Total Expenses - 90-95k including Flight Tickets, Hotel/Resorts, some Shopping..etc..!

There are very good hotels/resorts in Port Blair as well as Havelock (amazing Island in Andamans). If you make up your mind and chose Andamans, PM me - I might be able to help you with some guidelines.
