With just several hours until the official Samsung Galaxy S IV announcement, it appears that the phone’s look and its specs sheet have been finally leaked.

We reported a few days ago on the Chinese version of the Galaxy S IV, which appeared in a movie along with some details on hardware.

Well, things are getting better and better as Chinese blog site IT168 had the chance to take the Galaxy S IV for the spin and published a full gallery of high-resolution photos showing the phone in its full glory.

Aside from all the pictures captured, which are available below, the cited source also confirmed some of the superphone’s specs.

Given the fact that this is the Chinese version of the Galaxy S IV, also known as Samsung GT-I9502, there will be some differences between that and the international and US variants, so we should keep that in mind.
Anyway, according to IT168, the Chinese Samsung Galaxy S IV is equipped with a 1.8 GHz Exynos 5410 processor featuring ARM’s big.LITTLE architecture, which is complemented by a 533Mhz PowerVR SGX 544MP3 graphics processing unit and 2GB of RAM.

These specs come in line with previous rumors claiming Samsung Galaxy S IV will be available in two variants, one that will be packed with the Exynos chipset and the US version that will be equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor.

Furthermore, Samsung Galaxy S IV will boast a 4.99-inch display with full HD (1080p) support and floating touch.

On the back, the smartphone sports an impressive 13-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, while in the front there’s a secondary 2.1-megapixel camera for video calls.

The Chinese version of Galaxy S IV will offer dual-SIM capability, as well as microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 64GB), but the latter will be available for other Galaxy S IV models as well.

The design does not give an impression of being a premium phone. Would like to see it in flesh though and want to be proved wrong.

Looks Similar to samsung previous versions of phone ... pretty much like s3,note2.....
Thought of something different atleast can be more like a premium phone...
But anyways lets see how much impact it can create :)

Design wise it is a major let down, especially when we have sexy looking phones such as the Xperia Z and the HTC One.

But internal specs wise, this phone blows everything out of the water. Samsung is holding tight to the previous design and integrating some of the Note series features with the Galaxy series.

It has almost all the features and it's gonna be a big hit for sure.. Even when s3 got launched every one said it's ugliest phone but it did not matter...

Samsung today took the wraps off its brand new flagship smartphone Galaxy S 4 at a press event in New York. The successor to company’s much successful Galaxy S III phone, GS4 will be bringing improved features, a refined user interface and a lot more to the consumers.

According to Samsung, the Samsung Galaxy S 4 will go on sale beginning the end-of-April in 155 countries via 327 operators.

Apart from the massive raw specs upgrade, Samsung Galaxy S 4 also brings several new software features. We will be talking about them later in the post.

Samsung Galaxy S 4 features a 5-inch full HD Super AMOLED display, 13MP rear camera, 2MP front camera and Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. As rumoured on the processor front, there will be two versions, one packing 1.6GHz octa-core Exynos 5 processor and other with 1.9GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core processor. The CPU with be accompanied by PowerVR SGX544MP and Adreno 320 GPU respectively.

“With the GALAXY S 4, Samsung is again going to enhance the way we live,” said JK Shin, President and Head of IT & Mobile Communications Division at Samsung. “All the innovative features of GALAXY S 4 were developed based on the insights and needs we found from our consumers all around the world.”

On the software front, Samsung is introducing several new features; here is a look at some of the prominent ones:

Dual Camera: It allows simultaneous use of both front and rear cameras. When clicking images, users can choose from a variety of frame effects which blend the two pictures naturally and also adjust the size of the small picture inside the big one. LG is introducing a similar feature with the same in Optimus G Pro via an update.

Sound & Shot: Another camera related feature, as the name suggests, it captures the sound along with an image.

S Translator: This feature provides instant translation and supports both from speech to text and text to speech. Right now, there is a support for nine languages in S Translator.

Air View: An improved version of Air View in Note series devices, Air View now supports fingers too. It allows users to hover with their fingers to preview the content of an email, S Planner, image gallery or video without having to open it.

S Voice Drive: To help users operate their S 4 while driving, Samsung is releasing S Voice Drive. It can activate commands via voice control for optimization when driving.

Smart Scroll/ Smart Pause: We have already heard a lot about it. Smart Pause uses front camera to track your face and if it moves away from the phone screen, the feature pauses the video playback. On the other hand, Smart Scroll uses face movement to scroll the browser or emails up and down without touching the screen.

Samsung WatchOn: Samsung has included IR Blaster on S 4, and WatchOn is a feature to make use of that. It uses the IR Blaster to make your Galaxy S 4 universal remote for you TV, set-top box, DVD player and even air conditioner.

S Health: Samsung has put in new sensors for temperature and humidity on the Galaxy S 4 and S Health uses those sensors to automatically monitor your health, surroundings and more.

Pricing & Availability: Samsung has not revealed the pricing right now, which will be disclosed at the regional launch events. The Samsung Galaxy S 4 will go on sale globally beginning the end of April. Samsung is partnering with AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless, US Cellular and Cricket in the US for S4 launch, while Deutsche Telecom, EE, H3G, Orange, Telenor, Telia Sonera, Telefonica, and Vodafone will be releasing the phone in Europe.

Everyone will be going ga ga over the phone, will crib when it is priced ridiculous (if > 40k) or just console themselves that even at 40k it is better than BB Z10. Will wait for the price to fall down and by the time this happens, some other company will have come with a phone with even more features and this perfectly usable phone will be deemed useless and obsolete and everyone will want to "upgrade" to the new device.
And the cycle continues.....

So what's your point? You don't like companies launching new phones?

I'm afraid but that's how life continues, you can't do anything about that
Manufactures will still keep on producing phones month after month in order to be the better which in turn lures consumers to buy products which probably they have no use of at that point
But that's just "marketing" :p

I don't like above 4.6 inch phones. Its difficult to hold and use by one hand. Nowadays all companies are launches bigger devices. Basically if you will never diffirenciate Quad and Octa Core Cpu in real world performance. Those are marketing strategies.

I am not against them but the cycles have become too short and this hype creates a sense of obsolescence for most people who feel that a 6 month old phone is a piece of junk. But then to each to its own.

@raksrules

You are just being insecure that the shiny new toy that you bought with so much passion filled in your heart has been surpassed by another toy.

The device you've bought is not going to change or stop working when a new and improved one releases, it's still the same. And moreover Samsung is announcing the GS4 after a year, and will be only announcing two other premium phones in 2013, a Note successor and a high-end Tizen smartphone.

If i was insecure, i would not have bought an iPhone 4S right at the time when iPhone 5 was in market. I evaluated my requirements and also some of the wants and then got the iPhone. Also no way in any of my posts here i am trying to bash samsung or favor iPhone. I am just saying what is happening. Also it is not only one manufacturer's cycle but the cycles which are overlapping, as in the next phone from some other vendor will be out in 4-6 months and so on.
As i mentioned, to each to its own. Some people like to change phones frequently and some don't so it is personal requirement per se.
I at this point am really not sure when and why i will get a new handset but i will personally try to see that whenever i am in market to buy one, i have a perfectly convincing explanation to myself for buying a certain device and not just a "want" that i will create to do self convincing.
But as of this date, i don't have any requirement from my phone that is not being fulfilled from my current device.

The market is large enough to cater to different vendors. They all can't follow the same path, they are different companies after all. Samsung cannot just sit back and relax because some other manufacturer launched a phone, or time their release to coincide with other company's launch, they are their competitors nonetheless. Quick update cycles actually represent the growth of the industry, just like the PC industry did a few years back, it's settling down now.

If Ferrari introduced the LaFerrari today, doesn't mean tomorrow Lamborghini can't introduce the Veneno or McLaren the P1. There are buyers for all these, and there will be newer cars in the future, you just have to learn to be satisfied with what you have until it's time to upgrade, just like you've explained.
