Mmm..damn tricky. Not sure what to decide. I want the Venus...but am worried about quality. Fire seems good too.

Fire is well established, Venus, hero 2 and rest were launched now.. Hence I do not suggest the new ones as no one will have received /used it...

maybe u got from new inventory where they fix that issue . when u got ur tablet ?

There was one called Ainol Aurora 2 which my friend went ahead and bought on my recommendation. Apparently he is happy, atleast not complaining..the spec sheet was one of the best at 8k.
This one had 7 inch IPS and a wolfson dac chip too.

There are many software issues associated with each model . Not at all recommended.

I bought an ainol 10.1" tab for my mom but had to return it as its wifi signal strength was very poor compared to my ipad and Samsung phone. Didn't care much for the screen also.

Which model was it? It might be model specific issue.

It was the latest 10.1 tab for 12k. Its wiser to spend a few k more and go the nexus/ipad way.
