Some say the drivers was drunk and others say driver was turning a deaf ear to tourists repetitive warnings.
Lets talks an share our experiences while traveling with big brand names on world class wheels.

I hate Neeta for their arrogant staff, pathetically maintained coaches and reckless driving.
They are always on the verge of grabbing other travels tourists, they even lure fellow people by saying negative about rest of the travel companies. In my regular Mum-pune route its a everyday scenario. They keep competing with Prasanna/ (Metrolink), now Purple.

On other hand, Purple/Prasanna have relatively good drivers and polite staff.
Have good experiences with Sharma, Khurana and Ksrtc.

I have been traveling only via shivneri Volvo by MSRTC for the same reason on Mumbai Pune route. They are polite and well behaved.

I always travel by neeta Pune- Mumbai. Their staff sucks, especially the driver and cleaner.
I do not travel MSRTC shivneri due to the exorbitant price they command.

But yes neeta drivers drive fast especially on expressway.

I completely agree to what you say.
+ Shivneris dont have any video playing device in their bus inspite of charging hefty money for just >200kms[DOUBLEPOST=1378653030][/DOUBLEPOST]good for u the
On second thoughts, I dont care.
n stay away from this

I travelled in Neeta first time few months ago, Mumbai to Goa :D :D

Just say one thing awesome it is aka Volvo :D, and year their driver fly their buses like a Apache

All this things make me fear of road trips which i use to take every year :(, damm that innova looks like a turtle now

You enjoy the speed when you are in the bus but the same can make you feel dangerous when you are riding around these buses. On of the things which scares me is that these buses since having engine at the back side, they make almost no sound when they just come besides us on the road. This is scary especially for bike riders.

The government should look at enforcing speed limiting devices on these buses. I guess there is already a proposal to enforce speed governors from next year onwards, but not sure how well it will be implemented. As of now, at least here in TN, school/college buses are forced to install a speed governor. It would do immense good if the same is carried forward to these luxury private buses.

In my travel of Neeta Volvo on the Mumbai Pune expressway, i have seen the maximum the bus go to around 110 Kmph. I don't look always but sometimes using GPS and other times by looking at the physical speedometer (i usually take the front seat). This is on expressway and not on city roads.
Expressway speed limit is 80 kmph but then who follows the speed limit anyways, i have seen cars zip at more than 120 kmph (i presume).

I'd like horn-jammers on heavy vehicles. Trucks, buses... Heck, I'd like them on every vehicle. Bikes specially. Jammers kick in when at traffic lights. No honking, period!

I've seen dumbos honking at speed-breakers, on empty roads. Seems here the popular solution to an obstacle is make some noise to shoo it away.

I too want Honks to be removed. Sick people on road start honking even when 5 seconds are left for green signal to come. I cringe everytime i see this.

It is the same everywhere. I travel frequently from Chandigarh to Delhi in Volvos run by Haryana Roadways and they drive like they are in a F1 race. Many times I have told them to drive keeping the passenger's comfort in mind. We pay 535 bucks for the 250kms(more than a Shatabdi ticket which includes meals) and at least the ride should be comfortable. Now I make sure I get a seat in the front 2-3 rows. Had a harrowing experience one time sitting in the last row. I literally flew off my seat a couple of times when the driver didn't slow down enough for the speed breakers. I had to resort to using their language and resorting to threats to make them drive in a sane manner. I don't get why the concerned authorities can't install speed limiters like the Delhi govt did on the new buses.

The life/lives of our fellow brothers/sisters DO NOT MATTER AT ALL to most Indians - Who drive on our roads !

- How many of us follow simple "road discipline" when we drive ?
- Each one of us is in a hurry to reach our destination - and all the rest be dammed ?
- In most situations when we land in a mess - It is always the other person who is to blame ?
- We are least concerned that India ranks highest in the world - with the most fatal road accidents occuring each day ?
- The 'quoted terrible accident' is just another 'Breaking News' which we may see on TV or read in the newspapers - AND THEN flick over to the next channel or turn the next page ?

TOTAL INDIFFERENCE - I, YOU AND ALL THE REST WE SAIL IN THE SAME BOAT

AND YET ..... When such a ghastly accident happens to any one of our known kith & kin .......... then !!!!!!!!!

Shivneri buses are most of the times full from their origin, take less halts and well known for their speed. They get you less than in 3 hrs from mumbai tu pune. Bus speed is never less than 100kmph and hence ppl prefer it over NEETA and PURPLE.

Can you suggest when you have travelled in Shivneri ? I mean the timing of the bus and which weekday ? Also when you say Mumbai, what area are you exactly referring to ?
Because i travel from Pune to Borivali and it is a hell ride in any bus once expressway is over. I travel on friday evenings (not all) when lots of people travel. Journey from expressway is crawling. It takes me 5 Hours minimum to reach Borivali and this is best case.
I too am amused why shivneri is always full inspite of their high price. There is no difference on weekdays too, it is the same everyday.

Neeta sucks. I always travel via Shivneri to and fro Mumbai-Pune. Metrolink is also good.
That accident looks horrible. You see how reckless he was driving by looking at the condition of vehicles after accident.

reading the news, i think the bus driver tried to avoid accident with the bikers, veered the bus right, lost control, rammed the divider, jumped to next lane, head on impact with innova and bammm.....

Just one word, when death comes to you, no one can avoid it, Final destination #7 :(
