Graphic Cards Graphics card for 12k

Hey fellow TE members!

I have been using a GTS 250 for 5 years now and the card cant keep up with modern titles at high settings!

My current desktop config is as follows:
AMD A4 4000 Processor @ stock
8GB ADATA XPG RAM @ 1866Mhz
ASUS A2 55M FM2 Motherboard
Cooler Master 460W SMPS
Cooler Master Elite 310 Case

I want to get a graphics card which can handle most games at high settings. Also i wont be changing any part for the next 3 years. As far as the SMPS is concerned i dont want to change one now as the desktop is just used for backup, internet browsing and word processing. The newly launched GTX 750 Ti @ 12500Rs seems nice and it maxes all of the latest titles at 30 fps or 60 fps @ 1080p.

When i do game on the desktop its usually at 1600x900 resolution.

Is the GTX 750 Ti the best bet as it just needs 75W from the PCI-e slot! There is a zotac one available at MD Computers. Should i go ahead with the purchase?

For the res, right now 750Ti is the best, taking power efficiency into consideration. Else why not go for R7 260?

Definitely get the GTX 750ti, seems to fit your requirements exactly! Will allow you to play most games at high settings on your resolution for now, but maybe in a year or two you will feel the card struggling with the latest games at those settings. Either way, for now it will let you keep your old PSU and still get a good gaming experience for not that much money.

However, might i suggest the Asus DirectCU 2 Model instead if available at a price similar to the other card?

750 Ti is a good bet for your current system. Doubt you will see much gain from a better GPU right now as your CPU will bottle neck the performance of a better card.

Zotac 750ti ftw. Low power consumption, 5 year Zotac warranty, faster than a 660, great mining performance. Its a no brainer imo.

Hmm, the 660 also seems like a good bet if its around the same price as the 750Ti. The 460W CM should support a 660.

AFAIK the 660 is faster than a 750Ti is every benchmark I have seen so far.

yeah perhaps I was mistaken, 660 is faster. Still wouldn't recommend it over a brand new, low power consuming, smaller and long-warranty Zotac 750ti :p

I am also researching for a 12k-isk GPU, and I almost zeroed down to R7 260.
But now seeing the reviews/benchmarks/comparisons - I might get GTX 750Ti.

Isn't this card 750ti launched in India - why it isn't available in Fk/amazon/ebay? Any idea on street price in Bangalore?

Also, saw that R7 260's prices been slashed - now 120$ and AMD introduced some R7 265 for 150$ (same as 750ti).
Does it mean R7 260 will be available <10K ?

^ Dont count on it. AMD prices have been steadily creeping up cause of their extremely good data mining performance. I assumed the 270x would get cheaper once the 270 released, but today the 270 is sitting on the 270x's price and the 270x is now 2k-4k more higher. All this is happenining due to high demand - low supply of AMD cards. But if you're lucky and the 265 does release at 12 then go for that as 265 > 75oti.

Umm still on this question.
I was looking at the ZOTAC GTX 660 2GB now. It seems the 750Ti has lower power consumption but the GTX 660 can pretty much max out all games at ultra @ 1600x900.

I think there was a MSI Twin Frozr GTX 660 2GB OC model available on FK a few days back with 15% discount. Missed it so will wait for it to come back.
If i get the GTX 660 now and save for a couple of months and change the PSU to a Seasonic or Corsair, will that be ok?
Can the GTX 660 run well on the CM 460W? I already have it powering a Xonar DG and 3 HDDs and 2 additional case fans.

Your CM 460W should run the 660 fine but a better PSU is generally always better.

So would recommend you upgrade to a better PSU down the line. The CM 460W Extreme is generally a below average PSU and a lot of failures were reported with that series.

Yeah right now if i get the card and then in a month will upgrade to a corsair or seasonic psu.[DOUBLEPOST=1397211664][/DOUBLEPOST]Also how much better is the R9 270X against a GTX 660?
And can my PSU handle the 270X for a month?
