Hey everyone,

Wish you'll a happy and safe Holi.

I've been sketching some ideas for a case (Mid-tower ATX, water cooling loop), and was wondering if you'll have suggestions for the following:

- Materials
- Aluminium sheets (polished up-to 1200 grits, 1500 if I get the time)
- Something else you'd like to recommend

- Where can I buy standoffs for the motherboard? (Pune, Mumbai, online... Don't have extras)
- I'm thinking of making this one wherein the GPU is vertical, such that the outputs are all on the top. Any thoughts on that? (I think one of the Fractal cases has this, not sure which one. Yes, many others do, but can't recollect any of the names)
- I'm planning to get the WC parts from EK. But they don't seem to have a T-loop drain port, or a stopper fitting. Any recommendations or as to where to get the Bitspower ones?

I can't share the drawings yet, but what I can share is that I'm hoping to make this case as compact as possible (that eliminates Air cooling), while maintaining some upgrading options, easy to disassemble and mount back. I'm hoping to power this with 2x256GB SSDs in RAID 0, while all HDD-storage lives off our sever. So yes, this is a proper workstation grade system.

Also, I'm looking for sponsors for this. Anyone? Feel free to PM me.

Cheers.

Its a real bad idea making/exposing the usual rear back panel to top of your cabby. It comes with its associated risks as well. And worst imaging how all the cables will look plugged on the top of a custom made cabinet!!! Truly horrible!!!

Back panel is best if kept at back itself instead of making it some top panel.

Best is to share your design here as you'll get a lot good suggestions to improvise on...

You make some good points, however my initial/current sketches have a cover on the top, which hides off the wires. But, since this wont have any front ports, I lose access to the backports as well. Definitely canceling this bit out.

I'll surely share the sketches and the models once ready. Perhaps like a Beta/RC version :p. Thanks for chiming in. Cheers.

Ok a cover or flap on top.... but still is that gonna do good justice to the overall looks?
Dont forget, the top portion is always and best suited for exhaust. So you really cannot afford to mess with cooling part.
Fine if you are into water-cooling but what about rest of the in-cabinet air?? As per science the air or any gaseous stuff is going to head towards North!

You're most certainly right. As I mentioned in my previous comment, I quickly realized how this is a bad idea. As for moving air across the cubiod, I have some plans, although not finalized. I'll be attempting to make the main frame from a single piece of metal or such.

I can suggest you on bettering your ideas. Have been a modder and into suggesting custom designs, lighting, wire arrangements etc. but now it has been some time m off it. So share your design if you want and I'll have something for you.
Also what your location?
