resolution problem

my native resolution has changed to 1024 X 768 from 1366 X 768. and i get an option to change the resolution to 2560 X 1600 but the max resolution of my monitor is 1366 X 768.
please help

What Graphics Card are you using and specify the monitor brand also.

1st of all reinstall your graphics card driver.

i have reinstalled my drivers already. the dpi is already set to 100 %

Reinstall the OS. I had same resolution problem when going from windows 8 to 8.1 Its usual business of MS messing things up due to new software.

Even after reinstalling OS/drivers if it still does not show appropriate resolution, maybe you need to open device manager and right-click the monitor entry and see if you can update monitor details - maybe OS is not recognising monitor's supported/native resolution by default.

Also try going to your monitor company website for any support links to download "drivers" for the OS?
